Ampumaratojen puolesta!

Haulikkoratakausi on avattu. Ja siis melua aiheutettu ja lyijyäkin maaperään kylvetty. Ei taideta kuitenkaan olla aiheutettu ympäristöhaittoja - ainakaan Talvivaaran malliin (!!), eikä ihan lähellä ole asutusta, joskin ammunta kuulemma tietyllä kelillä ainakin kylälle kuuluu. Niinhän se taitaa kuulua melkein missä tahansa, missä ampumaratoja ylipäätään on. Kaiketi poikkeuksetta jokaiselle radalle on laadittu käyttöaikataulu, joka rajoittaa ammuntaa mm. ilta- ja pyhäaikojen osalta. 

Ampumaradoilla harjoitetaan metsästyksen kannalta oleellista toimintaa, siellä on poikkeuksetta erinomainen, sosiaalinen ilmapiiri, ja kuka tahansa järkevä, asiasta kiinnostunut ihminen saa taatusti hyvän vastaanoton. Eihän se ihan ilmaista ole, rata-ase on vähän eri asia, kuin satasen pyssy, joka sekin voi metsällä olla ihan kelpoinen. Oma ensimmäinen haulikkoni oli ihan soiva peli metsälle, muttei kestänyt ratakäyttöä ollenkaan. Nykyinen Browning tuntuisi olevan aika kohdallaan, ainakin ennenkuin nälkä kasvaa syödessä. Kaikkien haulikkojen äiti on tietysti Perazzi, jonka toteutan heti seuraavasta lottovoitosta.. ;)

Tätä kirjoittaessani odottelen Metsästysnoutajain haulikkopäivää, siitä raportoin kuvin ja tarinoin näinä päivinä. Viestini kuitenkin on: tiheä ampumarataverkosto on säilytettävä!

Pro Shooting Ranges!

I´ve recently opened my clay shooting season and just wanted to write a word to express my support for the shooting ranges in this country. They provide with a safe and social network of good people, who practice their skills before the hunting season opens again in August. Yes, we are aware of the dangers of led and noise - but this is the 21st century, surely we can work out solutions that protect the environment. More legislation is not going to do the job - just take a look at what has happened at the mine Talvivaara - sad, very sad!

Clay shooting is a social and responsible hobby, just go to any shooting range and you´ll find a warm welcome if you share our passion for hunting. And if you thought hunting is just killing for fun - think again, you cannot find more ethical meat on the market, and the voluntary work hunters do is worth millions of euros: game calculations, tracking wild life injured in the traffic, keeping the number of moose down to protect the growth of the forests and the safety of our highways, feeding animals - and who do you call, when there´s a bear or a wolf too close to people? 

I say we need to maintain and preserve the shooting ranges in Finland, not to close them down because of overwhelming bureaucracy and/or legislation!
